When something overwhelming happens, it can stay with us, held in the body, unspoken, sometimes for years. A Story Healing session is gentle, guided work to process a difficult or overwhelming experience and integrate it, so it stops running quietly underneath daily life.

This can help after many kinds of hard experience: a frightening or traumatic birth, a NICU stay or near-death experience, an accident, a loss, or a relationship where the connection just isn't happening.

Often a single 90-minute session, with follow-up support to help you integrate it into daily life, is enough to move through one overwhelming experience. Sometimes, especially with birth trauma or when a whole family is affected, the work unfolds over more than one session. We begin where you are and find the right shape together.

For birth and family work: this is some of my deepest work. It might begin with a parent processing their own experience of a child's birth, something that may never have been spoken, even years later. Each parent can have space for their own experience. And when the time is right, it can include the child, or the whole family, gently integrating the story together.

Story Healing is a modality I developed, drawing on the work of Ray Castellino and BEBA, Hedy Schleifer's Crossing the Bridge, and current understanding of the nervous system, attachment, and trauma integration. We heal in connection; we just need a space safe enough to allow the healing that's trying to happen.

Rebecca works via Zoom with people and families around the world.

To book: if you're navigating something tender, or you're not sure how much time you'll need, email Rebecca first at rebecca@thrivinghumans.org so we can find the right starting place together. If you know a single session is right for you, you can purchase one here.
