The Unexpected Happened

So… the unexpected happened.

After personally going through Hurricanes Helene and Milton on the west coast of Florida in September and October 2024, just 13 days apart, Rebecca knew that support was needed for individuals, couples, and families with children. The devastation has impacted so many people in so many ways and if we all have tools to support ourselves and our loved ones, we can recover not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Children, especially, may have dramatic changes in their behavior as they try to express what has happened to them. Everyone, even babies, deserves to have space for their experience. These conversations will help you to help them, and also yourself.

These calls are for those impacted directly and indirectly

These calls are not only for people directly impacted by these two powerful hurricanes, but for all of us who have witnessed these events from near or far and want to do something to help yourself and others. This is emotional first-aid for these events and also for the unexpected things that will happen in the future. When we know what to do, we can prevent additional suffering.

Simple and practical regulation strategies for adults and children

This webinar series will focus on simple and practical regulation strategies for adults and children who have experienced or been witness to the unexpected devastation and loss of life, property, way of life, predictability, safety, security, home, as well as those who feel shaken by what has happened to others.

Support for emotional regulation, story healing, boundaries, nutrition, and sleep

Rebecca will be joined by co-facilitators, Jen Gerardy and Tamara Jurkin, to explore emotional regulation, story healing, boundaries, nutrition, and sleep. We welcome your questions. Please hit reply to the email you receive after you sign up to submit your questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Here’s what we’re going to be exploring together:

Simple things we can do to support ourselves, our children, and all of our nervous systems in the wake of the disaster tapping into the wisdom of the body.

-Learn what survival mode looks like for you (it may not be what you think!) and how you can support yourself from where you are right now.

-We’ll also give concrete ideas for supporting kids, including talking to them about what happened, and supporting their natural impulses for healing. Honestly, these ideas can help our own inner children, too.

-Learn practical and doable ways you can harness the power of nutrition and sleep in the aftermath of overwhelming events.

We look forward to supporting you and helping you to find a little ray of light in these challenging times, finding the things that you CAN do, even when everything else feels unpredictable and overwhelming. Please share with others who need some extra support right now. There is no cost to attend. This is a public service to support the community. There are two calls and one sign up. Please sign up below.
