So how do you single parents go about dating again? How do you meet someone? When do you tell them about your kids? When do they meet your kids?

I am dating a single dad and it's going great! I met him through a mutual friend and on that first day I met him, I found out he had a son. When you go on a date with someone and you're a single mom (or dad), I think you should tell that person on that first date that you have a child. That way you can avoid heartbreak if you guys start dating and they find out your a single parent and run away. By telling them right away, they can decide if they're ok with that and then not have to worry about them leaving you later. What do you guys think?

I actually saw previews for this new show coming out called 'Must Love Kids' and it's airing tonight on TLC. It sort of reminded me of "The Bachelorette", except, obviously, these ladies are single moms trying to find love. Looks really cute

My kids are 10 and 8. I just started thinking about dating a little over a year ago. Had a false start and then a bit of an active period in the fall. I met all of my dates online. And every one of them knew from the beginning that I was a single mom. It wasn't an issue for any of them that they identified, but in time I came to realize that some of them weren't looking to include the kids in any of kind of relationship that we'd develop so they were gone pretty quickly.

I'm currently in an almost-five month long-distance relationship. My kids met him the day after I did (I had known him over a month online) but that was by necessity. He visited over Christmas break and I couldn't just ignore my kids for five days so we did stuff alone and together with the kids.

Getting babysitters is hard. Getting privacy is harder.

But it's so worth it!!

As long as it's ok for the kids I guess there's nothing wrong if single parents mingle and date. They have all the right to be happy and have partners for life.
