I just wanted to post for anyone who may come across this forum, that one of the awesome ways to connect with your baby after birth is by wearing him or her. We put Allen in a pouch sling just about as soon as he came out and he has loved slings ever since. At 2.75 years old now I still wear him frequently in a ring sling or a mei tai carrier.

If anyone has questions or anything about slings, please post! I've had experience with pouches, ring slings and mei tais. I hope to get into wraps next - maybe with the new baby :)

in addition to foster parenting, I am also a nanny for my 2.5 yo niece and her new baby sister of 3 months old....I have never done the babywearing bit (no bio kids here and foster kids have been older and LOVED being carried) but I am considering this with my nieces...both of them..I hold the baby and sis wants held too and carried too at the same time and I do this - - one on the hip and the other cradled in my arm....feeding time is a challange....but I LOVE IT!! now to see what my sis feels about this idea. I LOVE all of my jobs!!!

When I walk in the park, I will carry Kimi in my back. I use a pouch sling bag (forget the brand) to carry her even when I am just going to the grocery.
