My name is Jennifer. My husband Erik and I have a son, Sam, who is 8.5 and a daughter, Maya, who is 6. I know Rebecca from another organization, and was excited that she had Pam Leo on a conference call. After that Rebecca and I talked, and she told me about the parenting class. I'd never heard of BC, Forbes/Post, but knew that I needed some way to help our family get back on track.
I am so glad that I took the course, because it really has helped center me as a parent again. I know what my goals are, and somehow just reading the reinforcement of some of my ideas in book form gave me enough of a window of tolerance to really come from a place of love. And I've had some great response from my family.
However the biggest reason I'm so glad to have taken the class and to have the BC book is that it has unlocked so many things from my growing up. I've lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember and the book has led to some great explorations of how fear has shaped my life.
I (and my family) am not quite there yet, but I feel more optimistic than I have in a while.
Nice meeting you all.
Jennifer
